Matt Lasov
PARTNER
Matt is an experienced advisor who develops, finances, and executes strategies for profitable growth. He has led dozens of engagements for both private and public companies. Most recently, Matt served as CFO of Blue Ocean Acquisition Corp (Nasdaq: BOCN), a special purpose acquisition company focused on acquiring media and technology companies outside of the United States. Prior, he led the Strategy practice for Slalom Consulting in Southern California, and the strategy consulting business for Frontier Strategy Group, now part of FiscalNote (Nasdaq: NOTE), globally.
Matt helped lead the $275m merger between Blue Ocean Acquisition Corp and TNL Mediagene, a digital media company, ultimately listing the joint company on Nasdaq. Prior, he advised on the merger of TNL, the leading Taiwanese digital media company, with Mediagene, the leading Japanese digital media company. Matt led growth strategy and fundraising for private companies including a growth equity financing for an EdTech company, a debt financing for a Fintech company, and a venture financing for a HealthTech company.
He has designed M&A playbooks for public and private companies where he also led post-merger integration planning designed to quickly unlock synergies following transactions.
Matt is a sought-after thought leader who has contributed to the Financial Times, WSJ, NYTimes, BBC Radio, CNBC, MarketWatch, and CNN.
Richard Leggett
PARTNER
Rich is an accomplished global executive with over 35 years of operating, investing and transaction experience. He is a 4-time CEO with three successful exits, a former Managing Director in the Technology practice at Goldman Sachs, a founding member, active early stage investor and Executive Committee member of K Street Capital, an investment partner for the Bankers Helping Bankers fintech venture fund, and a Board member of AlphaSense.
Prior to co-founding Jeffrey Pine Consulting, Rich served as the CEO of Blue Ocean Acquisition Corp (Nasdaq: BOCN), a special purpose acquisition company focused on acquiring media and technology companies outside of the United States. Rich helped lead the $275m merger between Blue Ocean Acquisition Corp and TNL Mediagene, a digital media company as well as advised on the merger of TNL, the leading Taiwanese digital media company, with Mediagene, the leading Japanese digital media company.
From 2005 through 2022, Rich served as CEO of three PE-backed information services companies where he made several acquisitions and led two companies through successful exits and subsequent IPOs. Prior to his CEO roles, Rich spent 17 years in the Financial Services industry and was most recently a Managing Director at Goldman Sachs in the Technology practice in both equity research (in London) and investment banking (in New York), where he focused on covering and advising software and services companies. He started his career in management consulting at Andersen Consulting (now Accenture).
Since 2011, Rich has also served on the Board of Directors of AlphaSense, a privately held AI-powered market intelligence platform that was recently valued at $5bn and named #8 on the CNBC Disruptor 50 in 2025. In 2012, Rich helped start K Street Capital, an early-stage venture platform based in Washington, D.C. He has served on the Executive Committee since inception and has made numerous investments in early-stage companies. Since 2022, Rich has served as an investment partner for the Bankers Helping Bankers fintech venture fund.
He is a frequent guest lecturer at the University of Maryland’s Smith School of Business, where he is also a member of the Advisory Council for the Masters in Management program. Rich graduated from Georgetown University in 1990 with a BS in Business Administration.
Guy Hart
PARTNER
Guy brings 30 years of business-building experience to Jeffrey Pine Consulting, most recently as founder and CEO of Plus Delta Partners (PDP), an enduring double-bottom-line professional services business that he led from founding through a successful exit. During his time at PDP, Guy worked directly with fundraising teams at colleges, universities and hospitals across the country to generate multi-million-dollar returns on their programs.
Before founding Plus Delta Partners, Guy spent 13 years in business development and management consulting, leading teams delivering complex engagements to Fortune 500 clients across aerospace, manufacturing, and technology.
Guy came to Jeffrey Pine Consulting first as a JPC client, working with Matt and Rich across multiple engagements including growth and digital transformation strategies initially, then subsequently focused on operations, organizational infrastructure, and finance. Building on the successful outcomes driven by that work, Guy ultimately chose JPC to advise on the sale process. That experience gave him firsthand knowledge of the kind of advisory he's now committed to helping bring to other founder-led and family-owned businesses.
Guy holds an MBA and MIM from the Thunderbird School of Global Management and a BA in Political Science and Spanish from James Madison University. Outside of business, he's passionate about volunteering, mountain biking the hills of Southern California, fly fishing the rivers of Wyoming and spending time with his family.
Marcus Brauchli
STRATEGIC ADVISOR
Marcus Brauchli was the top editor of the Washington Post and, before that, The Wall Street Journal, where he spent 24 years as a correspondent and senior editor.
In addition to advising Jeffrey Pine and its clients, Marcus is a co-founder and managing partner of North Base Media (NBM), an early-stage media investor that has worked extensively with Jeffrey Pine's leaders.
Marcus serves as a board member or advisor to several of NBM’s portfolio companies, including Mexico's Capital Digital group, TNL Mediagene (Nasdaq: TNMG) in Japan, and Majarra, an Arabic-language business-media group. He was a director of Poland's leading business publisher, Gremi Media, and Piano Inc., a SaaS provider of paywalls and analytics to media.
Marcus is non-executive chair of Ridgley Walsh, a Washington strategic communications firm, and a board member of several nonprofits, including the National Trust for Local News, the Hirshhorn Museum & Sculpture Garden, and the Arthur F. Burns Fellowship
Chris Brill
PRINCIPAL
Chris is an advisor with more than 16 years of experience across strategic advisory, transactions, and organizational transformation. He brings a practical perspective shaped by both consulting and in-house operating leadership roles, advising leadership teams on growth strategy, operational change, and complex cross-functional initiatives across the energy, industrial, and financial services sectors.
Prior to joining Jeffrey Pine, Chris completed two industry tours focused on strategy, corporate development, and M&A. He supported strategic and M&A initiatives at a publicly-listed offshore oil services company (Nasdaq Copenhagen: DRLCO, now merged with Noble Corporation), and led enterprise change-management efforts for the C-suite of an asset management firm overseeing approximately $60 billion in AUM/AUA.
Chris reunites with longtime colleagues Matt Lasov and Richard Leggett at Jeffrey Pine, having worked alongside them earlier in his career.
A U.S. citizen, Chris grew up in India, Cyprus, and Austria, and has lived in New Mexico with his wife Emily, two children, and their dog Poseidon since 2021.
Ashwin Parupalli
PRINCIPAL
Ashwin is an experienced professional with a diverse background as an investor and operator across growth stage companies, private equity firms, and major multinationals. He began his career at The Blackstone Group and NBCUniversal and most recently, was part of the founding team at Blue Ocean Acquisition Corp. a special purpose acquisition company focused on acquiring media and technology companies outside of the United States.
As an operator, Ashwin co-founded Dropverse, a location-based technology company, leading operations, finance, and product development through multiple rounds of funding up until a successful acquisition by a strategic partner. He has also led FP&A and financial planning turnarounds for portfolio companies including a Series D technology startup and a $100M digital content studio business. As an investor, he has led over $1.2B in early- and growth- stage investments at private equity firms and M&A transactions at Fortune 500 companies.
He holds bachelor’s degrees in finance and accounting from the University of Illinois Urbana–Champaign and an MBA from Harvard Business School.
Ken Milano
ENGAGEMENT MANAGER
Ken has more than ten years of experience in financial advisory, strategic, and transaction support for founder- and family-owned businesses.
Prior to joining Jeffrey Pine, Ken was a Senior Manager in BDO’s Advisory practice, where he partnered with management teams and investors to support transaction readiness and operational initiatives. Ken has deep experience preparing investor materials and building complex financial models and forecasts, and has worked extensively with businesses backed by private equity and venture capital.
Prior to BDO, Ken was a Senior Associate at a boutique advisory firm, working closely with founders and executive teams across SaaS and technology-enabled businesses. He has been actively involved in both debt and equity financings and has led financial diligence efforts, built and reviewed transaction models, and worked directly with private equity funds, lenders, and institutional investors through deal execution.
Takashi Yuasa
ASSOCIATE
Takashi supports clients across a variety of engagements, helping management teams evaluate growth opportunities, make informed financial decisions, and navigate complex transactions.
Before joining Jeffrey Pine Consulting, Takashi spent three years in investment banking at Bank of America's Tokyo office. He advised corporate and private equity clients on mergers and acquisitions, capital raising, and other strategic transactions across the Industrials, Consumer, and TMT sectors.
Having worked in both the United States and Japan, Takashi brings an international perspective and significant cross-border transaction experience. He has partnered with clients and colleagues across multiple regions to execute complex engagements while coordinating diverse stakeholders.
Takashi received his bachelor's degree from Cornell University and is fluent in Japanese.
David Greenberg
ANALYST
David Greenberg is an experienced professional across consulting, venture capital, government, startups, and fintech. Most recently, David worked at the General Catalyst Institute, collaborating with portfolio companies and governments on initiatives in AI, digital assets, healthcare, defense, manufacturing, and energy.
He previously interned at the U.S. Treasury Department and spent two summers at C5 Capital, a London-based venture firm focused on cybersecurity, defense, and healthcare. David also has experience at two technology companies, one in AI radiology and another in fintech, where he supported strategy and business development.
He holds a Master's in Business Management from the University of Maryland, where he also earned his undergraduate degree in Information Science.
Lexi Brewer
DIRECTOR OF MARKETING & OPERATIONS
Lexi brings deep expertise in business operations, marketing, communication, and organizational development.
Prior to joining Jeffrey Pine, Lexi held progressive operations roles at K Street Capital, a DC-based early-stage investment firm, where she helped build the firm's operational infrastructure, managed its marketing, streamlined investment cycle and tax process workflows, and managed investor relations. She also led special initiatives including a successful grant application effort that secured $26M in federal funding.
Earlier in her career, Lexi spent nearly a decade at Florida Institute of Technology, where she led the restructuring of the institution's ESL program and taught university writing, ESL, and communication courses.
